Background

Alex Horowitz is a tax associate at Dorot & Bensimon PL, focusing primarily in the fields of corporate and personal international tax and wealth planning.  Alex’s practice areas include estate planning, pre-immigration tax planning, expatriation tax planning, structuring for foreign investment in U.S. (both real property and operating businesses), planning for U.S. individuals and companies operating internationally and FATCA compliance for clients with U.S. filing obligations. 

Alex grew up in South Florida before attending Florida State University where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.  Alex went on to graduate cum laude from the University of Florida Levin College of Law where he served as a teaching assistant for legal writing as well as an executive research editor for the Florida Journal of Law and Public Policy.  Subsequently, Alex obtained his LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, Graduate Tax Program. 

Prior to joining Dorot & Bensimon PL, Alex was part of the international tax group in the Miami office of a “Big 4” accounting firm, where he gained extensive experience in advising businesses on the proper U.S. tax compliance.
